White Birch Fine Art Gallery would like to invite the public to their 5th annual Art-in-Action open studio event. The event will be held both May 14 and 15, 2011, from 10 AM until 4 PM. The idea behind the event is to allow the public to watch the creative process behind a work of art.

More than 20 local working artists are scheduled to participate in this year’s event. The artists will gather at Mack’s Apples Farm Stand. The artists will also be available for sharing tip and techniques about oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels and more. They will have on display samples of their work. Several styles, subjects, and sizes will be available for sale.

Unique to this year’s event, Londonderry High School art students will be participating on Saturday, weather permitting, by painting outdoors “en plein air”. The students will also be painting picnic tables at locations throughout the Mack’s orchards.

Participating artists for this year’s event are:

  • Tom Abruzese
  • Barbara Barclay
  • Ginny Barrett
  • Hilda Bennett
  • Dennis Braje
  • James Caron

About the author

Jacklynn has been a resident in Londonderry since the age of 5. She grew up in a quiet neighborhood and went through the great school system. She has fond memories of bike riding through town in the spring and summer, sledding in the winter, and apple and pumpkin picking in the fall. She now has children of her own and looks forward to raising them in the same town she enjoyed so much as a youth.
