Annual Run for the Apples at Mack’s

Hurricane Irene has changed the date to September 4th at 5PM

The Greater Derry Track Club announced its annual Run for the Apples 5k at Mack’s Apples has been scheduled for August 28, 2011. The race takes runners across the rolling terrain of Moose Hill Orchards in this entirely off-road course in Londonderry.

The race will begin at 5 PM on Sunday, August 28. Registration can be completed before the day of the race by completing an application found here, or on the day of the race. Race day registration begins at 4 PM at the pond across Mammoth Road from the Mack’s Apples Farm Stand.

Registration fees are $15 per person for both preregistration and race day registrations. Families are $30 each. The first 100 registrants will receive a custom tank top. Awards for various age groups and refreshments will also be provided after the race.

She has fond memories of bike riding through town in the spring and summer, sledding in the winter, and apple and pumpkin picking in the fall.
