Two Great Shows Just Booked in Londonderry

Hi Everyone,

So—I had a big week last week. Went to Prince Edward Island and then I was off to New Orleans. Funny thing about the people in New Orleans—they don’t sleep. Seriously—they don’t. I, however, do and am still recovering from my excursions!

I saw some wonderful artists when in Canada. I’ve decided to bring four of them to Londonderry. You’re going to like these people. They’re great. More to follow.

I can’t believe it’s October already. What happened to September?

Our Nu-Utopians show is really going to be great. This band covers John Lennon’s songs.

We have some ridiculously good shows coming up. Many are sold out and many are about to be. Check our schedule for upcoming artists like Flock of Seagulls, Paula Cole, and David Bromberg. These are all great shows, folks. They’re gonna sell out!

We’ve booked TWO great new show this week!

November 20 The English Beat
January 21 The Ryan Montbleau Band

I hope you are all having a spectacular week!

This Week
October 6 THE NU-UTOPIANS
7-piece ensemble that celebrates the genius and artistry of John Lennon, one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Created and led by Rex Fowler of Aztec Two-Step and Tom Dean of Devonsquare, the ensemble gives remarkably fresh treatments to Lennon’s best and least known Beatles and solo songs that often inspire a whole new appreciation for John’s music.
The band’s live show features entertaining storytelling, and like their CD Imagined, superb lead singing and 3-part harmonies, plus a host of talented musicians on acoustic, electric and bass guitars, cello, violin, mandolin, accordion, chromatic harmonica and light percussion. In a series of singles and mini-medleys, the band’s arrangements frequently involve weaving melody, lyric and song together in new and unexpected ways.

October 7 TUPELO OPEN MIC NIGHT
Another great open mic at Tupelo. Whether you come and play a couple of songs or just want to watch, it’s well worth the $5 admission price.

October 9 / 10 PETER WOLF
These shows are sold out

October 12 FLOCK OF SEAGULLS
The 80’s New Wave band that started it all!
A Flock of Seagulls (also known as Flock of Seagulls) is a British Grammy Award-winning band originally formed by brothers Michael “Mike” Score (keyboards, vocals) and Alister “Ali” James Score (drums), with Frank Maudsley (bass) and Paul Reynolds (guitar). The group had a string of international hit singles including:
“I Ran (So Far Away)”
“Space Age Love Song,”
“Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)”
“The More You Live, the More You Love”

New Bookings
November 20 THE ENGLISH BEAT
Formed in Birmingham (UK) in 1978, this much loved multi-racial sextet (Dave Wakeling, guitar/vocals; Rankin’ Roger, vocals; Andy Cox, guitar; Dave Steel, bass; Everett Moreton, drums; Saxa, saxophone) took the Specials’ blueprint and added high-spirited pop appeal, all spiced up with a ska authenticity provided by legendary bluebeat saxophonist Saxa.
February 2003 saw a dream come true for many Beat fans as the band reunited for a minitour in the UK, which culminated in their acclaimed, sold out command performance at the Royal Festival Hall! It was a magical homecoming for the band and for the fans, with band members and fans gathering from around the globe for a night or irie, ska-ful rock-steady Beat!
Being the hard driving ska legend that he is, however, Dave was not content to rest on his laurels after the RFH reunion. Dave continues to tour the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the UK with an amazing all-star ska backing band playing the hits of The Beat, General Public, and his new songs. Listen

January 21 THE RYAN MONTBLEAU BAND
Ryan Montbleau is a pure soul singer. Not in the traditional sense. His voice – although a sweet, passionate instrument – isn’t packed with Memphis clay like Al Green’s or greased with urban sophistication like R. Kelly’s. Instead, Montbleau sings purely from his soul in a voice every bit as honest, open hearted and original as the stories he tells in his songs. Listen

She now has children of her own and looks forward to raising them in the same town she enjoyed so much as a youth.
