Londonderry Trailways will be hosting a Rail Trail Clean-Up Day this Saturday, April 28, 2012 and is inviting all to lend a helping hand! The clean-up effort will begin at 8 AM on the corner of Auburn Road and Independence Drive, located just across the street from Poor Boys Diner.

This year, volunteers will clean the northern section of the trail, from the diner to North Elementary School. This three-mile stretch will provide work for all skill levels and ages, from simple trash removal to fishing couches out of ponds.

Meeting Spot for Saturday's Rail Trail Cleanup

Those interested in volunteering should wear boots and gloves and bring bug spray and sunscreen. There are also some sections of the trail that are wet, so a few people with long boots or gators to remove trash are needed.

It is also requested that anyone with access to pickup trucks or trailers that can drive on the trail bring them. The trucks and trailers will be used to haul trash off the trails, as well as help with larger items including construction debris and tires. The trash will be placed at one location on Independence Drive so the Town can easily access it.

Volunteers can meet Londonderry Trailways on Independence Drive. To get there, take Rockingham Road to Liberty Drive where the new Irving Gas Station is located. Take the first left onto Independence Drive. The work will end at about 11 AM.
