Apple Blossom Walk for Autism to be held in Londonderry

The annual Apple Blossom 5K Walk for Autism will be hosted in Londonderry this Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 1 PM. Organized by the Town of Londonderry Joint Loss Management Committee and Wellness Committee, the walk will begin at the Moose Hill Kindergarten on Pillsbury Road.

Proceeds from the walk will benefit the Autism Society of New Hampshire, a non-profit organization that offers support and education to those with an autism spectrum disorder, and their families and friends. The organization encourages individuals with these disorders to realize their full potential, pursue happiness, and make meaningful choices. The society strives to foster the understanding, appreciation and acceptance of those with disorders.

Registration cost for the walk is $25 per individual and $10 for each additional family member. The first 100 registrants will receive a free T-shirt.

Checks for registration fees can be made payable to “Autism Society of NH”. Please be sure to write “Apple Blossom 5K” in the memo line and send to:

Jacklynn has been a resident in Londonderry since the age of 5. She grew up in a quiet neighborhood and went through the great school system. She has fond memories of bike riding through town in the spring and summer, sledding in the winter, and apple and pumpkin picking in the fall. She now has children of her own and looks forward to raising them in the same town she enjoyed so much as a youth.
