No it’s not first night in Londonderry, if it were we would all be over at the bonfire. It’s the first weekend after Labor day. The town gets into full swing with the farmstands all open and u-pick stands sweeping out the summer dust this weekend.
Art on the common opens at 10am Apple Country Fair starts at 9:30 am. One day only for the arts, two days on the crafts. Some things start to end in town, the Mack’s Ice Cream stand will close Sunday for the year. The flea market will close next month so time to get out!
Highlights from the farms. Stands have outstanding “dirt crops” you see the fruit farmers are not always thrilled with veggies grown in the field. Even so they listen to all the locals and visitors, we want local grown produce so they provide it. The quality this year is remarkable since many farms have been irrigating the crops.
The Commerce and Visitors Center has had many calls at the end of the week for U-Pick tomatoes. The best location is Elwood Farm great price for big bushels of tomatoes. This will also be a big weekend for the corn maze, be sure to leave extra time for a hay ride around the farm. You can see way down into Massachusetts from the top of the hill!
Be sure to zoom in and click on any icon to identify all the action. Ask for directions and we will guide you right to the spot!
Don’t forget to check out the 32 local restaurants this weekend. Business is Good. Life is Better!
