Smithsonia Museum Day Open House at the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire

Located in Londonderry, NHLooking for something fun to do with the whole family.  Visit Londonderry, New Hampshire this weekend and head up to The Aviation Museum of New Hampshire.  Located 45 minutes from Boston and the seacoast the Museum is dedicated to the preservation of New Hampshire’s aviation history and the provision of aeronautical knowledge.

The Aviation Museum of New Hampshire is proud to announce its participation in this year’s annual Smithsonian Museum Day Live!  This is a nationwide initiative by the Smithsonian that celebrates both our national cultural treasures and the museums that maintain them.

The museum is offering free admission to both the 1937 Manchester Airport terminal building and all of the exhibits of the Slusser Aviation Learning Center.  Knowledgeable docents will be on hand to provide both information and insight through guided tours of the facility.

The doors will be open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Manchester-Boston Regional Airport’s heavy equipment will be on display including an Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting truck (ARFF), and a 40 ft. long piece of Snow Removal Equipment (SRE).  Weather permitting; there will be a remote controlled balloon display. Hot dogs, chips and drinks too! The museum will have a choice collection of used books available for sale, including many new editions signed by the authors. The museum gift shop will be open with special gifts for aviators young and old.  The video “One Six Right” on the history & wonder of flight will be shown in the Devino memorial classroom at 11 AM.

Local aviators are welcome to fly in and park right next to the museum – Receive a 50 cent per gallon fuel discount courtesy of Wiggins Airways.
