The 3rd Annual Londonderry Middle School Wellness Silent Auction will be held at Londonderry Middle School in Londonderry, NH on Thursday, December 6th from 5:30  to 7 PM. This is open to the public (with no entry fee) and features incredible gift baskets for all ages.

LMS’ Wellness Committee, which this auction supports, sponsors many events throughout the year to help educate the students and staff on the benefits of health activities. The most recent event, Wellness day, featured speakers on topics such as stress relief, the effects of drugs and the benefits of good choices. Interactive activities included healthy cooking, “don’t bug me” – a game show testing the knowledge of flu symptoms and ways to prevent it – and “eat this, not that” – a lesson on portion control. Students were also encouraged to take part in the outdoor activities which included golfing, biking and the always popular all school walk/run.

Another activity designed to encourage the “5-2-1-0” philosophy (5 fruits and vegetables per day; 2, at the most, hours of TV/video per day; 1, at least, hour of physical activity per day and 0 sugary drinks). Also sponsored by the Wellness Committee is the LMS Road Race that will be held in the coming weeks.

Townsfolk are encouraged to come to the auction and bid or buy raffle tickets for the wonderful items offered. One of the most sought after items will no doubt be the Cruise donated by REMAX agent Mark Oswald. Other items for bid include restaurant gift certificates, Salon certificates, gift certificates for 18 holes of Golf, Palace Theatre tickets, and incredible and diverse gift baskets.

Please come and get some of your holiday shopping done as well as help support the Londonderry Middle School Wellness Committee. Funds raised directly benefit the students. Thank you. Visit their website for more details!
