This Week
February 21 STEVE KIMOCK
A master of improvisation for nearly four decades, Steve Kimock has been inspiring music fans with his transcendent guitar speak, voiced through electric, acoustic, lap and pedal steel guitars. While one can say that his genre is rock, no one niche has ever confined him. Instead, through the years, he’s explored various sounds and styles based on what’s moved him at the time, whether it?s blues or jazz; funk or folk; psychedelic or boogie; gypsy or prog-rock; traditional American or world fusion.
Threaded through this expansive and highly nuanced musical landscape is Kimock?s signature sound, the prodigious product of his ability to articulate crystal-clear tone, melody and emotion into intricately woven music crafted with technical brilliance. His passion and devotion to performing live is matchless, and his unparalleled ability to embrace and capture his audiences musically is the stuff of legends.

February 22 MAX CREEK
Max Creek, a regional phenomenon is one of the most electrifying live acts on the Eastern seaboard today. Max Creek brings to the stage a wide variety of musical experience, from the blues to ballads to hard-edged rock n’ roll, to early San Francisco era improv. This five man band has a unique style, and their blend of original songs and classic covers has gained them remarkable respect and a large following which continues to grow. To see Max Creek in concert is to fall under their unique spell. A Max Creek concert– whether in a packed nightclub or outdoor arena– is an electrifying and magical experience; just ask those who travel hundreds of miles to listen and dance. Blues ballads blend into jazzy barroom piano and a jumping, frenetic energy fuled by the audience. An hour later, there’s a full fledged jam at work, combining contemporary and jazz idioms and soaring into freeform flight. Even later, a reggae- tinged stunner will blend right into a folksy blues intro. Each night is different– you can’t predict Max Creek’s direction.

February 23 DEL MCCOURY and SAM BUSH
This show is at the STOCKBRIDGE THEATRE in Derry, NH.

Sam Bush is an American bluegrass mandolin player considered an originator of the Newgrass style. Delano Floyd McCoury is an American bluegrass musician. As leader of the Del McCoury Band, he plays guitar and sings lead vocals along with his two sons, Ronnie McCoury and Rob McCoury, who play mandolin and banjo respectively.
This is a must see show for any Bluegrass Music Fan!

February 24 JAMES HUNTER
Grammy nominated r&b singer and guitarist James Hunter has become, in his own words, an overnight success that has taken 20 years. After touring Britain’s blues clubs for two decades, James found instant stardom with his first American release, 2006?s People Gonna Talk, which reached number one on the Billboard Blues Chart, earned a Grammy nomination and led to tours with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Los Lonely Boys, Boz Scaggs and Van Morrison.
His mellifluous r&b, with its affectionate echoes of Sam Cooke, Georgie Fame and Jackie Wilson, became an airplay staple on some of America’s most influential radio stations and received heavy praise from the likes of Rolling Stone and MOJO magazines. Back home, Britain’s finest soul man and his skin tight band, featuring drums, bass and brass, continue to tear through venues with their incendiary live shows.
Now widely regarded as one of the nation’s finest soul and blues guitarists, James has recorded session for the likes of BBC Radio 2?s Paul Jones and Mark Lamarr and appeared on BBC2?s Later—With Jools Holland.

New Bookings
April 6 STEVE SONGS This is a special Children?s show.
SteveSongs, known and loved by millions of PBS KIDS viewers throughout the country as ?Mr. Steve,? co-host of the PBS KIDS preschool destination (nominated for a KidScreen best children’s television host award), will bring his signature brand of seriously fun (and seriously good) music to Poochaalooza!
Steve’s songs have won numerous awards (2 Parents’ Choice Gold, NAPPA Honors and many more) and have 4 times reached #1 on Sirius/XM Kids Place Live’s top 13. But you haven’t heard anything until you see him and the band live. And here’s your chance.

April 18 ANA POPOVIC
The most impressive aspect of Ana?s music is her diversity of techniques and styles. Her blend of smoking electric funk slide guitar, jazzy instrumentals, tight blues groove, soulful feminine vocals and her incredible stage presence makes her an irresistible force in the music world. Her career has been meteoric, and shows no signs of slowing down. Ana is the first European ever nominated for ?Best New Blues Artist? at the W.C. Handy Award Show in Memphis, Tennessee (2003). She was also nominated for ‘Best Blues Album’ at the Jammie Awards in New York City, a three way nominee for ‘Best Vocalist’, ‘Best Guitarist’ and ‘Best Album’ at the French Blues Awards (2002) and she won the prestigious jazz award ‘Jazz A Juan revelation In Juan Le Pins’ (France 2004).
Ana is a 4-time Music Blues Award nominee:
– Best New Blues Artist (2003)
– DVD Of The Year (2010 – An Evening at Trasimeno Lake)
– Contemporary Blues Album (2011 – Unconditional)
– Contemporary Blues Female Artist (2012).

May 15 MATT WERTZ
Matt Wertz is excused. Yes, it has been three years since his last full-length release, but when you take his relentless touring schedule, a breakup with his major label, a new deal with Nettwerk and the trials and tribulations of life into account, the ever-so-charming singer-songwriter gets a pass. In fact, it?s these experiences that have helped shaped the inspired songs on Wertz?s new album, WEIGHTS & WINGS, and by that rationale, it was worth every bit of the wait.
All of the songs on Wertz?s new album are tied to relationships, and each track delves into what the singer has learned about himself and others during that last few years. More than ever, the reflective songwriter has his heart on his sleeve, and Weights & Wings is the very incarnation of that lifeline.
This year, Wertz will head back on the road to reconnect with his fans and share the songs he?s worked so hard on. His hope is that listeners will be able to identify with his music, and find a ?windows down, sing along at the top of your lungs? quality about the album, too.

May 31 SOUTHSIDE JOHNNY and THE POOR FOOLS
Billed as Southside Johnny & The Poor Fools, each evening?s set list will consist of a wide cross section of music, described as Southside Johnny Lyon?s ?eclectic version of the Great American Songbook,? with the Poor Fools playing everything from Bob Dylan tunes to NRBQ and songs from Muddy Waters, Richard Thompson, Emmylou Harris, The Band, George Jones, Mose Allison as well as a few Jukes standards.
Who are the Poor Fools? Featuring a couple of Asbury Jukes members ? Jeff Kazee and John Conte ? the band also includes Tommy Byrnes who has worked with Billy Joel for a number of years, and E Street Band violinist Soozie Tyrell.
?It will be a loose mix of songs, stories and banter between the musicians and ? hopefully ? the audience,? Southside Johnny said in a statement. ?Just lookin? to have a good time. It?ll be a little side trip between the usual Asbury Jukes touring and our next recording.
