Realtor Consults with Clients to Ensure Success

For eleven years, Mark Oswald has worked with RE/MAX 1st Choice to assist clients in the process of buying and selling homes, office space, and more in the southern tier of New Hampshire. Based out of Londonderry, he has worked in surrounding towns including Bedford, Nashua, Hudson, Derry, and Manchester, and is well versed in the markets of these towns.

Prior to becoming a realtor, Oswald was required to take licensing courses and an exam. Every two years, he must renew his license by taking a series of continuing education classes and submitting the documents to the NH Real Estate Commission, which governs the real estate business. The courses require nine elective credits and three core credits and keep realtors current and aware of changes in laws and regulations.

When working with clients Oswald explained that he doesn’t want to be thought of as a salesperson. “I think what people are looking for is a consulting approach,” he said. “It’s the largest financial investment most people will make in a lifetime. I approach it more in a consulting capacity. I think people value that.”

Because of advancing technologies, Oswald believes consumers are better educated about their real estate options. However, he believes that they still need someone who knows the market and the real estate, State, and Town laws. He also believes that sellers should be proactive by doing small repairs, testing well waters, pumping the septic, and completing other tasks that buyers will be looking for upon inspection.

Oswald is currently certified as a senior real estate specialist, meaning he can work closely with the 55-plus communities and buyers who are looking to downsize. He also works with companies and employees for relocation services, but can work with clients who are looking to buy or sell any designation of real estate.

Mark Oswald has lived in Londonderry for twenty-six years and has served on numerous committees. He was a Town Councilor for nine years, on the Conservation Commission for twelve years, on the Old Home Day Committee and the Planning Board, founded the Indian Pathfinders and Leadership Londonderry, and has hosted many fundraisers for the Londonderry High School Marching Band.

When discussing Londonderry, Oswald said, “The attraction for our community, here in Londonderry specifically, is the school system. It’s a commuter location. It’s a great location for people that want the ocean, they want the mountains, they want to be in Boston for sporting events, concerts. You’re only forty-five minutes to an hour from everything.”
