This Sunday, October 6, 2013, local organizers from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and the Londonderry United Methodist church will come together for a Crop Walk, sponsored by the Church World Service. The purpose of the walk is to raise money for worldwide projects to address hunger, as well as local community organizations.

This year, 25% of the proceeds raised from the walk will go to the food pantry operated by the Upper Room in Derry. The organization helps so many members of the local community on a very small budget.

The three mile walk will begin and end at the Londonderry Town Common. Registration begins at 12:30 PM and the walk will begin at 1 PM. The route will make use of pavement and flat dirt trails.

Jacklynn has been a resident in Londonderry since the age of 5. She grew up in a quiet neighborhood and went through the great school system. She has fond memories of bike riding through town in the spring and summer, sledding in the winter, and apple and pumpkin picking in the fall. She now has children of her own and looks forward to raising them in the same town she enjoyed so much as a youth.
