This morning, employees, press and members of the public congregated outside of Wire Belt of America to celebrate the company’s ribbon cutting of their new 12,000 square foot expansion. Standing on the steps of the addition, CEO David Greer stated that Wire Belt’s mission is to help keep manufacturing in the state.

“We are very proud of completing this expansion and we are confident that it clearly expresses our commitment to keep and grow manufacturing jobs here in New Hampshire,” said Greer. “Wire Belt is committed to keep the nearly 100 jobs we have right here in Londonderry with the long term goal of creating more jobs through the addition of newly developed products, strategic acquisitions, and increasing our market share by building further trusts through continued exceptional customer service.”

Along with the architects, construction team, and all others involved in bringing the addition to fruition, Greer thanked his family members. “I personally want to thank the members of my family, which make up the majority of our Board of Directors, for their ongoing support of my dream of making Wire Belt the kind of company where people actually enjoy coming to work everyday. So far, so good, but I am confident we can do even better.”

He also added a special thank you to Wire Belt employees. “They are what I believe to be some of the hardest working, most productive, exceptionally creative and remarkably loyal employees that any manufacturing firm, or for that matter any business, could wish for.”

Wire Belt Company has always had a strong commitment in protecting the earth’s natural resources, and has a very impressive record; having twice being the winner of BusinessNH’s “Lean and Green Award”, and the Governor’s Award for Pollution Prevention. The new addition to the facility will focus on energy efficiency.

The addition was built by utilizing a high performance building envelope. High tech lighting, triple insulated windows, and high efficiency HVAC units with economizers are also part of the addition. Now that the project is complete, Wire Belt will add to its solar array; the company is known for having one of the largest solar arrays in the State of New Hampshire.

With efficiency as a guiding principle, Sullivan Construction, Inc was selected to oversee the project. The company is based in Bedford, NH and built the first LEEDS platinum level certified office building in the State of New Hampshire.

Wire Belt, a fourth generation family owned manufacturing company, is the worldwide leader of stainless steel wired mesh conveyor belts that are used in the food processing industry all over the  world. Wire Belt Company of America is headquartered in Londonderry, NH and has additional facilities in the United Kingdom and Germany.
