Adult Summer Reading Program
The Leach Library’s fifth Adult Summer Reading Program is well underway and will continue until Saturday, August 30. Adult library-card holders still have a chance to participate, so come in and sign-up. Staff at the Reference Desk will be taking registrations throughout the summer.

Upon registration, participants will receive an informational sheet and a tic-tac-toe card to be filled out during the month of August. The tic-tac-toe card can be turned in when three blocks in a row are completed. You will then be entered into a drawing to win a prize at the end of the program. Remember to swing by the Reference Desk to collect tickets for every book you read.

This month, our “Literary Elements” Adult Summer Reading Program display theme is Mad Scientists. The display will feature fiction and nonfiction books and DVDs such as Charles Darwin: Destroyer of Myths, by Andrew Norman, What is Relativity?: An Intuitive Introduction to Einstein’s Ideas, and Why They Matter, by Jeffrey Bennett; and My Brief History, by Stephen Hawking. Participants can pick up this month’s Scientist Matching Game on the central display table to see if they know how these scientists are famous and correct entries will be entered into a raffle. Our weekly drawings will continue throughout the summer with plenty of fantastic prizes left to be raffled off. Also available for a chance to win in August are gift certificates generously donated by local merchants.
