The Currier Museum of Art, located in Manchester, NH, is a internationally renowned art museum that contains more than 12,000 American and European works of art. The museum features paintings, decorative arts, photographs, and sculptures from famous artists like Picasso, Monet, O’Keeffe, Wyeth and Lewitt.
Past exhibits at the Currier include Jon Brooks, a Manchester native and wood artist; Jerome Liebling: Capturing the Human Spirit; Evolution of a Shared Vision: the David and Barbara Stahl Collection; and Building Books: the Art of David Macauly. Upcoming exhibits include A Chosen Path: The Ceramic Art of Karen Karnes, to be on display from August 27, 2011, through December 3, 2011; and Backstage Pass: Rock and Roll Photography, on display from October 7, 2011, through January 15, 2012.
The Currier also offers studio workshops and classes for adults and children, as well as fun activities for all ages. Adult programs include First Thursdays, an event that features live music, gallery talks, an opportunity for mingling among other art lovers and a cash bar and full menu. Other adult events include a Digital Video Workshop, Remember 9-11, a concert called Amy Beach in Words and Music, and day trips.
Family events at the Currier include Storytime in the Gallery, a special story time, held the fourth Monday of each month from 11:30 AM until 12 noon, that introduces art to children ages 3 to 5. Other family events include Family Saturdays, held the second Saturday each month from 10 AM until 1 PM. The museum also offers a special party package, called Arty Party, where children can enjoy an hour and a half long art activity which they can take home, plus a half hour birthday celebration.
Tours are held daily at 1 PM and last about an hour. Focus tours, which are directed towards a specific topic, theme, artist, etc., are scheduled periodically and are free with admission. Private tours may also be scheduled on a variety of topics.
The museum is open Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday through Friday from 11 AM until 5 PM. It is also open Saturdays from 10 AM until 5 PM and the first Thursday of the month from 11 AM until 8 PM. Rates for admission are:

- Seniors: $9;
- Students: $8;
- Children 18 and under: Free.
The Currier also offers tours of the nearby Zimmerman House. Everything in and around the house is a Frank Lloyd Wright design, from the layout of the house and yard to the mailbox and furniture. Additional admission if required for the Zimmerman House, and are as follows:
- Adults: $20;
- Seniors: $19;
- Students: $16;
- Children 7 – 17: $8.
